Benton Visual Perception Test:

It is a performance test that measures visual spatial memory. It can be administered to individuals 8 years of age and older. The Benton Visual Memory Test is able to assess shape memory in an immediate and delayed manner. Moreover, it can distinguish visual memory from visual perception and motor skills. The test using shapes includes presentation of shapes in different durations, drawing the shape by looking at it, drawing the memorized shape or recognizing it among other shapes. It basically measures the ability to memorize shapes. In 10-second time intervals, the individual is asked to match and draw the geometric shapes on the cards shown. The application time is 5 minutes.

Bender Gestalt Motor Perception Test

The test is used as a developmental test for visual motor functioning in children and sheds light on the detection of retardation, regression, loss of function and organic brain damage in both adults and children, as well as personality deviations, especially in cases of regression (mental retardation, aphasia, various organic brain damage, psychoses, unreal illnesses, etc.).The Bender Gestalt Test is administered to children between the ages of 5 years 6 months and 10 months 11 months to assess visual motor skills. It is also used as a developmental test and can sometimes be used to detect mental retardation, various brain injuries and physiological problems.

Goodenough-Harris Man Drawing Test

GOOD ENOUGH - HARRiS Draw a Man Test is a test that aims to establish a connection about the child's intelligence through the pictures made by the child. It is a test used to measure mental development in individuals. Goodenough Intelligence Test is a general intelligence test applied to children between the ages of 4-14. It does not give correct results when used outside these ages. Therefore, it is not correct to apply it to individuals at younger or older ages.

Catell 2A Intelligence Test

The Cattell 2A Intelligence Test is administered to individuals between the ages of 7:6 and 14 and illiterate adults. It is a culture-free intelligence test because it consists entirely of visual items. It consists of 4 subtests and 46 items. Although the duration of each subtest is different, it is a timed test.

Catell 3A Intelligence Test

Catell 3A is a performance-intelligence test. This test, which is applied for ages 14 and above, is aimed at determining the function of intelligence in the abstract field. The test consists of a total of 46 items and the response time is 25 minutes.The tests are prepared in accordance with the age group. It can be applied individually and as a group.

Ankara Developmental Inventory (AGTE)

It is an inventory used to assess the developmental status of children aged 0-6 years. The inventory is used to identify possible developmental problems and take precautions in children who do not have "visible" developmental problems. It is an assessment tool that provides in-depth and systematic information about the development of infants and children. The skills and development of the child are evaluated in line with the information received from the mother.

Porteus Labyrinths Intelligence Test

It is used to determine general ability. It is not a test based on verbal explanation. It consists of 12 mazes. It is used as an individual intelligence test: It is applied to individuals between the ages of 7,6-14.

Louisa Düss Psychoanalytic Stories Test

Consisting of 10 small stories, the test is used to identify children's unconscious conflicts and complexes.

Peabody Word Test

It is a performance test used to determine children's receptive language skills, vocabulary, and word (concept) development with pictures. It is administered to children between the ages of 2 and 12. The test consists of two different forms, one for children younger than 8 years and one for children older than 8 years. The child is told one of the four pictures on the card and asked to show the appropriate picture.

Metropolitan School Readiness Test

It is a test to determine whether children are ready for school, school rules and learning. It is used to evaluate the physiological, environmental and mental factors that should be present when preparing for school. The Metropolitan School Readiness Test consists of 6 subtests such as Word Comprehension, Sentences, General Knowledge, Matching, Numbers, Copying, and a total of 100 items.

WISC-IV INTELLIGENCE TEST

The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-IV) is an intelligence test for children between the ages of 6 years 0 months and 16 years 11 months. It is applied individually. It is a test that deals with the concept of intelligence based on factors and measures intelligence in 15 different areas. There are 10 basic and 5 sub-tests. While the WISC-R test was developed in the 1980s, the WISC-4 is quite new, and the norm studies in Turkey were completed in 2013, making it the most comprehensive and reliable intelligence test in Turkey.

The WISC-4 test not only measures the range of intelligence; Verbal Comprehension, Perceptual Reasoning, Working Memory Processing Speed scores are obtained and information about the child’s strengths and weaknesses are obtained by obtaining information about the child’s level of success within their age norms.

WHO CAN APPLY

WISC-4 is administered only by psychologists who have completed their training by the Turkish Psychological Association. After the intelligence test, the family is provided with a report containing detailed explanations about the intelligence group of the child, its strengths, and weaknesses.

DURATION

The duration of the test varies between 65 and 115 minutes depending on the speed of the child taking the test.

THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE COMING FOR THE TEST

It is recommended that the child to be administered WISC-4 should be rested, sleepy and full. In addition, the child should not be told that he/she is being taken to an intelligence test as this may cause anxiety and worry in the child. The child should not hear terms such as test, intelligence test, exam. Instructions that increase anxiety should not be given such as pay attention, listen carefully. Necessary explanations are made by the practicing psychologist before the application.
