Every year, 7 thousand children are sexually abused!

It has been stated that every four hours a rape or attempted rape is committed in Turkey, approximately 25 thousand children living on the streets face sexual violence and 7 thousand children are sexually abused on average every year.

According to the latest figures of the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Justice, the number of children who are victims of sexual abuse and who are taken to security units reaches 80 thousand.

Child Neglect

It is the most common form of child maltreatment. It does not attract as much attention because it does not leave a visible wound as child abuse. However, research shows that neglect is at least as harmful as abuse and is much more damaging to a child’s early brain development.
Neglect is divided into 3 categories: Physical-Educational-Emotional.

Feelings of loneliness and vulnerability, learning difficulties, behavioral problems, failure in communication, health problems, smelling bad, looking neglected, addictions, the tendency to create health problems to get attention, the habit of hoarding food are the characteristics seen in neglected children.

Adults who were neglected when they were young may become violent, suicidal, insecure, depressed and addicted.

Training Modules

Those who qualify for the gift sessions consist of people determined by the examinations and approvals of the School Principals, Guidance Teachers and Specialist Pedagogues and Psychotherapists in the public schools we visited in the districts of Istanbul with our Conscious Mothers School project.

We are happy to reach 16.000 mothers in 9 districts in 3 years, 2013-2014 and 2015, with the Conscious Mothers School project. Mothers between the ages of 20-50, who have children aged 0-15, are given child development and pedagogical trainings in their schools, guided by experts on the mistakes that mothers believe to be true. Gift Sessions are selected among the institutions mentioned above and the mothers who applied to us after these trainings.

After identifying the people who qualify for the gift sessions, our specialist starts the sessions for the people in need. Before or after each session, it is declared verbally and in writing that this session is realized with the gift of the relevant person or institution. The person receiving therapy signs the form stating that he has received therapy after the session.

If the client’s name – surname – contact information is approved by the client, you will be informed via sms and e-mail. In this way, the person or institutions that donate the therapy can monitor who, how and when the gift sessions are used in the most transparent way.
